We are looking for a Senior Windows Agent Engineer with deep Windows internals and systems programming experience to own core parts of the agent: how it observes the device, how it acts on it, and how it is deployed, updated, and presented to the user. You will turn architectural direction into complete, production-quality implementations with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Build the low-level layer that observes the operating system, in both managed and native code.
- Keep the agent's footprint small enough that users never notice it.
- Make the path from endpoint to cloud reliable and secure, including over unstable networks and while offline.
- Implement endpoint actions that change device state safely, predictably, and with a clear audit trail.
- Extend on-device detection so that known problems are found and investigated automatically.
- Build the experience the agent presents to the user on the device.
- Own how the agent is installed, upgraded, and rolled back across a very large fleet.
- Diagnose failures reported from the field, including conflicts with endpoint security products.
Requirements:
- Systems experience: 10+ years building production software, focused on Windows systems, endpoint agents, or other long-running unattended software.
- Windows internals: Deep understanding of processes, threads, memory, sessions, services, tokens, privileges, and the Windows security model.
- Languages: Strong command of C# and .NET, with solid production experience in C++ and managed-to-native interop.
- System-level data collection: Hands-on experience gathering system and application data through the native Windows interfaces, including Win32, ETW, WMI, and performance counters.
- Performance: Proven ability to profile and optimize CPU, memory, and I/O in software that must run continuously and stay invisible.
- Debugging and reliability: Root-cause analysis from crash dumps and traces, and experience with concurrency and software that recovers on its own.
- Deployment and security: Experience delivering, signing, and upgrading software across a large fleet, and the discipline that elevated privilege demands.
- AI and agentic coding: Hands-on use of AI-assisted and agentic coding tools in production work, with the judgment to review generated code critically.
- Swift and macOS (major advantage): Production experience in Swift, and in macOS system programming — launchd daemons, XPC, system extensions, privacy controls, and notarization.
